Surah Al Anfal Ayat 39-40 Translation Tafseer

Para 9 - قَالَ الْمَلَاُ

سورة الانفال

بِسْمِ اللّٰهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِیْمِ

8.39-40

وَ قَاتِلُوْهُمْ حَتّٰى لَا تَكُوْنَ فِتْنَةٌ وَّ یَكُوْنَ الدِّیْنُ كُلُّهٗ لِلّٰهِۚ-فَاِنِ انْتَهَوْا فَاِنَّ اللّٰهَ بِمَا یَعْمَلُوْنَ بَصِیْرٌ(39) وَ اِنْ تَوَلَّوْا فَاعْلَمُوْۤا اَنَّ اللّٰهَ مَوْلٰىكُمْؕ-نِعْمَ الْمَوْلٰى وَ نِعْمَ النَّصِیْرُ(40)

Kanz-ul-Irfan

And fight them until no discord remains[1] and the religion, in its entirety, is for Allah alone. So if they desist, Allah sees all that they do. If they resort to aversion, know that Allah is your Protector—and what an excellent Protector ˹He is,˺ and what an excellent Helper![1]

Commentary

Here, ‘فِتْنَہ’ (discord) means disbelief and polytheism.

A believer should not just trust weapons and apparent resources during combat, rather, he should place his complete trust in Allah Almighty as He is the Best Helper. Trust in Allah Almighty is an exceptional weapon in the possession of Muslims which disbelievers simply do not have.
